Mediterranean Originally from the countries from northern Mediterranea, like Spain, Greece, Italy, is often called the modern Spanish style. The furniture ranges from simple and functional to formal and superficial. Small pieces with ornate legs and often antique hardware. The walls are predominantly textured. The colours are that of the Mediterranean sea and sky, terracotta and lavender. Mosaic often adorns the Mediterranean interiors, the floors, the walls or even table tops. Textures - layers of paint with a delicate look of manual work and intentional errors, textures similar to the sand, which adds visual depth.
Tip #2: Before using any leather cleaning product on the main area of the sofa, do not forget to perform a patch test. Apply it on the bottom of the sofa to check whether it causes any harm to the color or texture of the leather. Once you are positive that it is safe for the leather, use it on the rest of the sofa as per the instructions provided by the manufacturers.
Take, for example, a dining room table. There are several shapes from which to choose including round, oval, square or rectangular, and the choice of finishes ranges from glass to metal to stone to finished wood. But the actual structure of the furniture is very important. Ask yourself these questions; is it possible to expand the size of the table with pull out leaves? Do these pull out leaves alter the shape of the table i.e. a round table becomes an oval, a square table becomes a rectangle? And will that new shape still fit into your dining room? How easy is it to pull the leaves out and replace them? Remember to always measure the height of a table to insure that your chairs will fit comfortably underneath. A dining table is most often about 30" from the ground, allowing a seat height of up to 18" to easily fit. These are questions you will want answered before you make your decision as to which table to purchase.
The craziest color leather sofa I ever saw was blue and orange. Yikes! Some happy Boise State Bronco fan I guess. Leather can be dyed almost any color, but obviously the browns, blacks and tans are the most popular. These don't clash with most interiors as much as green, blue, red, orange, or some other bright color might. When I recently recovered my leather dining chairs I got swatches of all sorts of colors to consider. It was a fun process, but in the end I ended up opting for a classic dark brown.
